Matting a Silicone Doll
This is a guide for artists who are matting (or rematting) a silicone baby doll.
Artists: 2 ways to use
For best long lasting results: Ensure baby is clean and free of oils. Wipe down with a silicone friendly solvent (NOVOCS is recommended) and allow it to evaporate off. This step helps to ensure that you don't get peeling later as it takes away any leeched silicone oils or oils fro your skin as well as dirt. Once it is dry – apply a very thin (clear) layer of your preferred silicone paint system. Apply the powder using an atomiser spray, sifter shaker or powder brush before the silicone starts to kick (cure). Be careful not to end up with pools of clear paint in creases or deep areas.
After silicone has fully cured, dust of excess with a powder brush – rinsing isn't necessary but it does help to reveal any missed spots. (Users tip: Keep a little of the silicone paint mix in your palette to touch and observe to see how the curing is progressing rather than touching your artwork). Once you are happy – apply an additional light dusting of silicone velvet with a powder brush to give the silkiest feel ready to be dressed and sent home.
Quick touch up: Ensure baby is clean and free of oils and lay the doll on a lint free surface such as tissue paper or plastic wrap. Wipe down with a silicone friendly solvent (NOVOCS or Isopropyl alcohol are recommended). Allow a few minutes for the solvent to evaporate. Apply the powder in firm circular motion to work into the silicone using a small medium firm brush (makeup foundation brushes work really well and as they are soft but firm). No need to wait – dust of excess with a powder brush – do not rinse using this method.

Silicone Doll Care (for collectors)
These instructions are for collectors who want to protect their doll from friction and give a velvety feel.
Collectors on finished dolls:
Use Silicone Velvet to make baby feel like silk and protect the surface paint for longer. To achieve velvety soft skin that is not only ultra real to touch and look at, but also helps clothes glide on and prevent friction that will damage your doll, regular use of silicone velvet will safely and purely protect you precious doll. Use on a clean dry doll with a (latex free) powder puff or small powder brush to gently work the powder into the doll’s skin. Use a large powder brush to dust off any excess.

Amazing product
Amanda williams (mandys babies) on Jul 24, 2018
This matting powder is just amazing. I’ve tried quite a few matting products but this is far the best. It feels so soft and silky. Gone are the days of clumping matting powder and the days of dreading matting a baby in fear of ruining all that hard work. Well done on creating a fantastic product and I can’t wait to move onto the other products too.
Oustanding! Fantastic results

I tested this product and am amazed at the results. Having used several other matting powders from various suppliers this is definitely one of my very favourites. It does what it says on the tin AND the is definitely velvety in terms of the feel of the silicone when matted. Absolutely outstanding. Ordering more right now!!

Leaves silcone so soft. Easy to use and a small amount goes such a long way. When you are spending such a lot of money to produce a silicone baby, you just have to use the best matting product out there and this is it.
