Ecoflex 20
Ecoflex silicone is a beautiful, very soft silicone suitable for pouring silicone babies. It is too soft for making moulds. As with any platinum silicone, exposure to sulphur, latex and tin silicone can lead to cure inhibition. Compatible with Thi-Vex® thixotropic agent.
Ecoflex 20 is Shore Hardness 00-20. It is quite runny and easy to pour and will make a nice soft baby, can be pigmented and flocking added if required. Cures fully in around 4 hours at room temperature, but will cure quicker in warm room, and take much longer in a cold room.
It is advisable to use a vacuum degasser when pouring. However because of Ecoflex 20's long cure time, and the fact it is quite runny, a degasser is advised but not essential.
Ecoflex costs around £185 GBP for a gallon box. This will pour one newborn sized baby and have quite a bit left.

Dragonskin 10
Dragonskin is ideal for making moulds as it is stretchy but strong. Dragonskin 10 has a shore hardness of A10 and comes in different cure times - SLOW (7 hours), MEDIUM (5 hours), FAST (75 minutes) and VERY FAST (30 minutes). As with any platinum silicone, exposure to sulphur, latex and tin silicone can lead to cure inhibition. Compatible with Thi-Vex® thixotropic agent.
Dragonskin 10 costs around £31 GBP for a trial size kit, and around £185 GBP for a gallon box. You will probably need two trial size kits for a newborn size baby.
